Some of the subjects and motives from the decorative encyclopedic glossary by Fornasetti have inspired a new collection of wool and silk rugs which, available in a conventional series of formats and sizes, can be made also on order and with sizes specifically fit for the needs of furnishings.
Handcrafted by Roubini Rugs, which for years continues to pursue the objective of maintaining alive and enhance hand-knotting, an ancient process today on the verge of dying-out, which still survives at the maximum level in some regions of the world, they are rugs which look uniquely embellished by the brilliance of the emphasis of colors on silk, by the extraordinarily accurate hand-weaving and scale of Fornasetti's subjects, which have always known how to transform walls, floors and ceilings, furniture and ornaments in some windows opened on to the imagination. The conception of this new collection of rugs is the result of the close cooperation between Sam Roubini, a name tied the refined production of handcrafted rugs, and Barnaba Fornasetti, who for years has continued practicing the activity handed down by his father Piero. Thus producing renewed editions of historical models, planning concept of furnishings, and also overseeing to the creation of unedited pieces, which are handcraftedly manufactured with limited numbers or in partnership with various licensed companies.
